First, What Is Actually In Your Pores
Most people book a facial because of congestion, and congestion is worth understanding before you pay someone to address it.
A pore holds a hair follicle and an oil gland. When dead skin cells and oil pack into that opening, you get a comedo. If the opening stays clear at the surface, air reaches the plug and it oxidizes, which turns it dark. That is a blackhead. If skin closes over the top instead, the plug stays pale and slightly raised. That is a whitehead.
The useful thing to know: a blackhead is not dirt. The color is oxidation, not grime, which is why scrubbing harder does not clear them and often makes the skin angrier. What clears a plug is softening it and lifting it out, which is what a trained extraction does and what your fingernails at midnight do badly.

Enzymes and acids work by loosening the bonds between dead surface cells so they shed evenly, which is a gentler mechanism than physical scrubbing. Vitamin C is used for the look of brightness and evenness. Hyaluronic acid holds water in the upper layers, which is why skin looks plumper immediately afterward.
Who it suits: skin that is not especially congested but reads flat, grey or uneven in photographs. Also the classic pre-event booking, because the visible change is quick and there is nothing to recover from.
If The Problem Is Texture, Pores Or Scarring: Microneedling, $195
Now we move from the surface to what is underneath. Microneedling uses very fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries that prompt the skin's own repair response, and ours is aimed at fine lines, acne scars, texture, pores and tone, with a customized post-care kit.
The distinction that matters: a cleansing facial improves what is sitting in your pores. Microneedling works on the structure around them. If your pores look large because they are full, extractions help. If they look large because the skin around them has lost firmness, or because old breakouts left the surface uneven, that is a collagen question and a different appointment. The classic European facial, and an underrated starting point. Deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, a customized masque, a soothing facial massage and intensive hydration, finished with a revitalizing collagen beauty shot.
Who it suits: skin without a specific complaint, a first facial when you do not yet know what your skin needs, or maintenance between bigger treatments. It is also the honest answer when someone asks which facial to book and cannot name a problem, because starting here tells your esthetician more about your skin than a questionnaire will.
Where The Branded Machines Fit
You will see branded device facials advertised around the valley, including hydradermabrasion treatments sold under registered trademarks. As a category, those use a handpiece to cleanse, gently exfoliate and apply serum in one pass, often with suction to lift debris from the pore.
We do not offer a branded hydradermabrasion device, and we would rather say that than let a familiar name imply otherwise. What No Facial On This Menu Does
A facial is a cosmetic service. It works on the look and feel of skin.
It does not treat a medical condition. Persistent, painful or cystic acne, anything that bleeds or will not heal, sudden changes in a mole, or a rash needs a doctor or a dermatologist, and a facial is at best support alongside whatever they prescribe. Anyone who tells you a facial cures acne is selling something.
