A Brazilian wax at Aloha Beauty Lounge is $60, and it takes hair off the whole bikini area, front to back. Come with roughly a quarter inch of growth so the wax has something to grip, and stop using any retinoid on that skin for several days beforehand. Afterward, stay out of the hot tub, the pool, the sauna and any workout that leaves you soaked for 24 to 48 hours. The appointment is private, and you can ask to stop at any point.
Very few people book a first Brazilian without a knot in their stomach. That is reasonable. You are undressing in a room with someone you met four minutes ago, and most of what gets written about it online is written for shock value. Here is the flat version: what comes off, what to do beforehand, what happens once the door closes, and what you pay.
What A Brazilian Removes
A bikini wax ($40) tidies the edges. It takes off what would show outside underwear or a swimsuit and leaves the rest where it is. A Brazilian ($60) goes further than that. Everything from the front through to the back, including in between. If you want a shape left in front rather than going fully bare, ask about it when you book. Settle that before the table, not halfway through.
This is routine work for the esthetician doing it. Nothing about your body is going to surprise anyone in that room.
Length Is The One Thing You Control
Wax grabs hair. If the hair is too short, there is nothing to grab and short pieces get left behind. The general standard is about a quarter of an inch. If you shave, that means letting it grow well past stubble instead of cleaning things up the night before you come in. Do not trim it in the car.
If there is nothing for the wax to hold, there is nothing for it to remove.
The Two Days Before
Exfoliate gently a day or two ahead. A washcloth in the shower or a mild scrub does it, and gently is the operative word. Keep the skin moisturised in the lead-up, then arrive clean and dry on the day.
Then the one people forget. Stop any retinoid on that area for several days first. Retinoids thin the surface layer of the skin, and skin in that state can lift when wax comes off it. The same caution applies before a professional facial, for exactly the same reason, so mention what you use at both appointments.
What Happens Once You Are In The Room
The door closes. You undress from the waist down and lie on a table with clean linens on it. Wax goes on in small sections and comes off section by section, and your esthetician will tell you before each one. You will be asked to shift your legs into a few positions, and sometimes to hold the skin taut with your own hand, because taut skin releases the wax more cleanly.
It stings. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. The sting is brief and it travels with the section being worked on. Breathe out as the strip comes off instead of holding your breath. If you want a pause, ask for one. There is no prize for gritting through.
You can talk the whole way through as a distraction, or say nothing at all. Both are normal. You do not owe anyone conversation while you are lying on that table.
The First Two Days After
Expect pink, warm skin and small red dots around the follicles. That settles. For 24 to 48 hours, keep the area away from heat and friction, which rules out the hot tub, the pool, the sauna and the kind of workout that leaves you sweating through your clothes. Skip tight denim and synthetic leggings for that window. Loose cotton is the friend here.
Ingrown hairs are the recurring complaint with every method of hair removal, waxing included. The fix is unglamorous. Once the skin has calmed down, go back to gentle exfoliation so new hair breaks through the surface instead of curling back under it. Keep the area moisturised. Do not go after a bump with tweezers, however satisfying that looks on the internet.
If you are prone to ingrowns, tell your esthetician at the start. It changes what she suggests you do at home.
What It Costs, Start To Finish
Brazilian is $60. Bikini is $40. The rest of the waxing menu runs like this: underarms $20, lower legs $40, full legs $70, arms $30 or $50 and stomach $15 or $30 depending on how much area is covered, and back $25 or $45 on the same basis. On the face, a full face is $40, upper lip is $5, chin is $10.
One thing worth knowing about policy. The 10 day guarantee at Aloha Beauty Lounge covers nail services only. Waxing, like the other non-nail services, carries a 48 hour window instead, so if something is not right, call inside two days rather than waiting a week to mention it.
Waxing is also one of the easiest things to add onto a visit you were already making, which is part of why the studio was built with nails, lashes, brows and skin under one roof. Ask when you book whether it can go on the same appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a Brazilian wax in South Jordan?
A Brazilian wax at Aloha Beauty Lounge is $60. A bikini wax, which takes off only what shows outside underwear or a swimsuit, is $40. Both are listed on the service menu.
How long does my hair need to be for a Brazilian wax?
Roughly a quarter of an inch. Wax needs enough length to grip, and hair that is too short gets left behind. If you normally shave, let it grow out past stubble rather than tidying up the night before your appointment.
What is the difference between a bikini wax and a Brazilian?
A bikini wax cleans up the edges, so it removes the hair that would be visible outside a swimsuit line. A Brazilian removes hair from the entire area, front to back. If you want anything other than fully bare, ask about it when you book.
What should I avoid after a Brazilian wax?
For 24 to 48 hours, avoid heat and friction. Skip the hot tub, the pool, the sauna and any workout that leaves you soaked, and keep tight synthetic fabric off the skin. Give the area a couple of days before you go back to exfoliating, then keep it gentle.
Can I get a Brazilian wax on my period?
Call (801) 909-8989 before you book and ask. Studios handle this differently, and you should hear our answer straight rather than guess at it. If you would rather move the appointment, that same call does it.
Can I shave between waxing appointments?
You can, but it works against you. Shaving cuts the hair off blunt at the surface and resets the growth you were building, so your next wax needs that quarter inch again before it can be done properly. If you want smoother results over time, let it grow between visits.
